ACCESS TO THE TOP OF MONTE GRAPPA

To get to the mountain of Monte Grappa, the main access is via Bassano del Grappa, via the S.S. 47 (Valsugana) from north to south (Trento-Padova), via the S.S. 248 from Vicenza or from the autostrada A31 (Valdastico) until Thiene, and then on the main road for Bassano (Gasparona) form the west, or on the S.S. 348 from Treviso until Cornuda, then on the S.S. 248 from the east.

Access to the top of Monte Grappa is through 4 main roads, listed below in order of accessibility and condition:

1. Strada Provinciale 141, this is the best road for Grappa, open all year 'round, it allows you access to the top in any season. From Bassano del Grappa go to Romano d'Ezzelino. At the traffic light, follow the indications for Cima Grappa. The road begins rising immediately to the top of Monte Grappa.

2. Strada Generale Giardino, created as a military road, it is shorter in length in reaching the top, but is narrower and steeper than the previous route. It is a sealed road but access to the top is closed due to snow in the winter months. From Romano d'Ezzelino go to Borso del Grappa. Once at Semonzo, leave the main road and follow indications for Cima Grappa.

3. Strada Provinciale 141, a continuation of the first route, from the top of Monte Grappa, it heads north inthe direction of Seren del Grappa and Feltre, it is the preferred access route form the north. Take the S.S. 50 from Arten to Seren del Grappa and Cima Grappa.

4. Access from the various towns and locations of the east of the mountain using various roads that make up the itinerary of the Malghe, these all arrive on the road strada Generale Giardino and then follow this to the top. Departing locations: Quero, Fener, Alano di Piave, passing to the north of Monte Tomba, Pederobba for Monte Tomba,  Pieve di Cavaso del Tomba, and from Possagno.

From the itineraries described above there are many tracks and paths that lead to various Malghe and locations that have great historical value relating to the first world war.
